The Recording Studio
This exhibition was in conversation for over a year and debuted a new body of work by Hendren. Taking form in the space, the exhibition showcased sculptural works that exist between the worlds of artifacts and memories, allowing the viewer to craft their meaning while firmly tapping into a universal nostalgia.
Composed of wood, concrete, glass, plaster, metal, and more, this installation evokes memories and taps into our emotional connection to music, its paraphernalia, and the alluring lore of making sounds.
And a note from David:
The Recording Studio opens at Goat Gallery in Landers on May 11 (Mother’s Day!). I am grateful to Nicola for the opportunity, and look forward to introducing my work to the High Desert art community. It’s been a while since I’ve done a sculpture show, and this one is particularly exciting for me as it brings together several kinds of work from over the years, along with some new moves. Hope to see you there!
