Cat Tower was an invitational group exhibition and competition at The Museum of Museums in Seattle, WA that explored the cat tower as a sculptural object. It was judged by cats, artists, and the general public. It represented the first time in history that artists, architects, sculptors and designers reimagined that ugly carpeted jungle gym in a museum exhibit.
For my Cat Tower, I made a Cat Power Cat Tower using lyrics from Chan Marshall's (Cat Power) song Cross Bone Style "Oh Come Child, Come Rescue Me" only substituting the work "CATS" for the word CHILD. 2 disco ball nexts perched over large scratch pads with tufted steps for the kitties to climb. My Cat Power Cat Tower came in third.
